Grandes Escolhas and the Municipality of Oeiras organize the 3rd edition of the only event exclusively dedicated to Portuguese fortified and sweet wines. After the success of previous editions, we are ready to welcome more producers, more visitors, and more activities.
Port wine, Madeira wine, Moscatel de Setúbal, and Moscatel from Douro, late harvest wines, and other sweet wines will be showcased in Oeiras in a location full of symbolism, responding to the invitation of the also historic, and recently revived, Carcavelos Wine, our host.

This event seeks above all to highlight the uniqueness of these wines and make it a celebration of the best we have to offer, drawing the attention of public opinion, sector agents, tourism, and international experts and opinion leaders to the exceptional quality of our fortified wines.

NOBRE GOSTO consists of a series of various activities and initiatives, aimed at capturing the interest of different types of audiences and professionals, and focusing on the various aspects of our fortified wine reality. Taking advantage of the diversity of spaces available at the Marquês de Pombal Palace, both in the sumptuous interior rooms and the magnificent exterior gardens, we create distinct areas of interest so that visitors can enjoy all its offerings.

It is well known that the main Portuguese fortified wines have a strong historical and cultural component associated with them, and in the case of Carcavelos Wine, Oeiras and Quinta do Marquês de Pombal play a central role.

The Marquês de Pombal Palace, where this event takes place, besides being classified as a National Monument, is a site of great heritage and symbolic value not only for the people of Oeiras but also for this NOBRE GOSTO event.

In considering this location, the memory of its founder, Sebastião José de Carvalho e Melo, was significant as he was the creator of the Douro Demarcated Region, where one of our oldest fortified wines, Port wine, is produced. Additionally, the remarkable work of the Municipality of Oeiras in the restoration of one of Portugal’s great fortified wines, Carcavelos wine, whose main production center and cellar are within the limits of the Quinta do Marquês, was also a key factor.
